Brown, Brook, Cutthroat and Rainbow trout thrive in the White River and Norfork River of Arkansas.

Roundhouse Shoals Guide Services focus upon dry-fly fishing for trout -- mayflies, caddis, midges or (in season) terrestrials.

Wading or Drift-Boating

Depending upon river levels, fly-fishers either wade or stalk trout from a drift-boat (operated by host George Peters).

Full-Day or Half-Day Services

Both full and half-day services are available, depending upon your schedule and needs. Our full-day service includes shuttle (if the river levels require boating), shore-lunch and a full-day's worth of experience and knowledge from your guide.

Your Fly Fishing Guide on the White and Norfork Rivers

George Peters has fly fished for over 50 years in several countries and now is based in Cotter, Arkansas where he guides fly fishers to find trout.

Your host, George Peters, has been fly-fishing for 50 years, since he first began in Idaho in 1961 with a Wright McGill fiberglass fly rod. Several years later, that same rod was propelling cork poppin' bugs to bluegill and bass near Jacksonville, Arkansas.

Thus was born his passion for pursuing Ozark trout with dry flies.

In the 1980’s George focused his fly fishing on Western trout -- in California, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and Montana. Next came trout adventures in New Zealand andArgentina -- and then came salt water fly fishing in Belize and Costa Rica.

The White and Norfork Rivers hold record-level trout. Fly fishing these rivers is among the best in the country.

Trout on the Ozarks' White and Norfork Rivers

In 2001, George and his wife migrated from California to the banks of the White River in “Trout Capital USA” Cotter, Arkansas, making the White and the Norfork Rivers his "home waters." He also loves to fish nearby Crooked Creek -- a world-class smallmouth bass stream.

Guiding for Nine Years

In 2002 George began running his guide service, Roundhouse Shoals, from his facility and dock on the north bank of the White River just over 18 miles from Bull Shoals Dam.
